Swim School

Kwinana Swim School offers a range of learning and developing swim programs for all ages and abilities. Courses are offered for babies from three months, school aged children, teenagers, adults and those with additional needs.

All classes are 30 minutes unless otherwise indicated.

Program Timetable

Kwinana Swim School lessons run on a term basis with the school term. Holiday programs are also offered during the April, July, September and Christmas school holidays.

Our 2024 Calendar includes all term and enrolment dates.

Term 1 2025 commences Monday 3 February 2025.
Enrolments open for current participants from Monday 9 December 2024.
Enrolments open for new participants from Monday 16 December 2024.
*Online Enrolments open 12pm Sunday, 8 December for current participants only.

Enrolments

ONLINE ENROLMENTS

  1. Log into the Client Portal
  2. Select 'Book' on the top menu and then 'Programs' under this.
  3. You will then be presented with the timetable of available bookings. This can be filtered to show only the programs relevant to you.
  4. Select the class you wish to enrol in, and a pop-up will appear with all family members attached to your account. Note: if the child is not at the correct level for the selected class you will not be able to book them in.
  5. Payment options will then be confirmed.
  6. A summary will be presented of the booking, plus a confirmation of agreement to the terms and conditions.
  7. Follow the remaining prompts to complete the booking and make payment.

Complimentary Aquatic Pass

When your child is enrolled in Kwinana Swim School group lessons, 1:1 lessons and / or Junior Lifeguard Club, they receive a complimentary aquatic pass to use at any time throughout the term. This pass includes the enrolled child and a parent / guardian.

The complimentary aquatic pass provides:

  • Entry for 1 enrolled swimmer + 1 adult (enrolled swimmer must attend with the adult)
  • Access to the 25m Pool and Leisure Pool only.

The swim pass does NOT provide:

  • Access to the hydrotherapy pool, spa or steam room
  • Centre entry for external programs (e.g. Education Department swimming lessons or Squad training).
  • Adult to come alone.

Sibling Discounts

Discounts apply when booking more than 1 child into group classes or private lessons:

  • 2nd child = 10% discount
  • 3rd / 4th / 5th child = 20% discount

Excludes SAIL classes and Aqua Playgroup. Only applies to children's swimming lessons - (immediate family only)

Swim School Lessons

Parent and Baby

Sing and Play Program (3mths to 6mths)

Provides an opportunity for parents to connect with their children in a fun environment while getting them used to the water.  A great bonding session with your baby, while learning how to condition your baby in the water.

Parent and Baby Program (6mths to 3yrs)

Parent and Baby classes allow infants from 6 months to 3 years to get involved in water familiarisation using songs and games and teach basic skills such as floating, kicking and gliding.

  • Starfish 6 months to 12 months
  • Seals 12 months to 18 months
  • Advanced Seals 18 months to 24 months
  • Dolphins 24 months to 32 months
  • Advanced Dolphins 32 months to 36 months
Preschool

Pre-School (Turtles) Program (3yrs to 5yrs)

Our Turtles class caters for pre-school aged children. Classes are small and personalised without parental participation. With friendly instructors providing water familiarisation courses to develop water safety, these classes emphasise on coordination, fun and enjoyment in the water.  This level concentrates on the safety aspects of the water and having fun while learning. This class is perfect for beginners and a childs first time in the water without their parents/carers.

School Aged

Royal Life Saving Swim and Survive Program

The Centre provides a broad, balanced program of swimming, water safety and survival skills, following guidelines endorsed by the Royal Life Saving, Swim and Survive Program. With small class sizes, qualified and experienced teachers are dedicated to providing fun, safe and educational experiences. Your child will not only enjoy swimming but will be proficient as well.

Adults

We offer mixed classes and female only classes during our term swimming.  These lessons are generally run over 45 minutes and depending on the class ability may be in the hydro or lap pool.  We work with any ability in these lessons, so please come down and have a go!  It is a great place to make friends.

Private

Royal Life Saving and Survive Program

One-on-one instruction is available for people of all ages and skill levels. These classes are run outside our timetable and are very limited.

Holiday Swimming Lessons

Swim School Holiday Program

This intensive format is great for building and reinforcing new skills and techniques.

January Program 2025 

10 day Program:
Monday 6 January to Friday 17 January 2025
$160 - Early bird offer of $128 if you enrol before 20 December!

9 day Program:
Monday 20 January to Friday 31 January 2025 *no classes 27 January
$144 - Early bird offer of $115.20 if you enrol before 20 December!

The complimentary aquatic pass is valid for the same duration as the program that you are booked into. *Sibling discounts DO NOT apply for Holiday Swim Lessons.

Other lessons

SAIL (Specialised Access and Inclusion Lessons)

Provides individuals with a lifelong skill which will enable them to participate in a wide range of aquatic activities.

Our Sail 1:1 classes are offered to people of all ages with an intellectual, physical or behavioural issue/impairment who need individual attention or reduced distraction from other swimmers.

Aqua Playgroup

A 45-minute play session for parents and kids aged 1-4 years including singing, games, fun, exploring and relaxation.  This is held in our warm hydrotherapy pool with lots of toys for the kids to play with to help them enjoy the pool and the water. This program can be booked for the term or paid casually.

Lap It Up

A swimming program focusing on Fitness and Fun, suitable for participants who are level 7 and above up to the age of 17. Tuesdays 5:00pm - 5:45pm, or Wednesdays 5:00pm - 5:45pm.  The students aim to swim at least a kilometre each week to try and achieve swimming distancing.  The first distance is the Rottnest Swim, 788 laps of the pool 19.7ks, and the students receive a medal at half way and the full distance.  From there the students can aim for the English Channel, Swim the Swan and the Shark Bay Swim.

Junior Lifeguard Club

Our Junior Lifeguard Club (JLC) is available for children aged 8 and over. Participants must be able to swim at a level 6 or above, as measured by the Royal Life Saving Swim and Survive Program.
